Presented here for the very first time is a portrait bust of the writer, which was purchased by the Hermann-Hesse-Museum in 1997.

It was created by sculptor Gregor Dittmer, born in 1965 in Wiesbaden, who today lives in Schlat near Stuttgart. After studying art education at the Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität in Mainz, Dittmer from 1987-1994 enrolled in the "Free Sculpting" course taught by Prof. Inge Mahn at the Staatliche Akademie der bildenden Künste in Stuttgart. In 1996, he began a study of art therapy in Nürtingen. His portrait busts of former German president Theodor Heuss were put on display in the Bundeshaus in Bonn in 1994.

Gregor Dittmer created the bronze medal for the Honorary Award ("Großer Ehrenpreis") presented by the Weißer Ring.
