Ard Posthuma

Born in Haarlem in the Netherlands in 1942. Studied German and English in Lausanne, Munich and Basel. After spending many years in Switzerland, returned to live in the Netherlands (Groningen) from 1975. Has worked as a publisher's reader and editor, teacher, and university lecturer. Countless literary translations in the period since 1989. Works published in German and Dutch: adaptations and edited versions of Dutch, Belgian and Friesian authors published by Suhrkamp, Kleinheinrich (Münster) and Attempto (Tübingen). Own poems and essays published in literary periodicals. 1996-1997: guest year in Berlin at the invitation of the DAAD ("Berlin Artists Programme").
